Story of Á

Á pronounced [au] is the Icelandic word for river. The passion behind á originated along the riverbanks of Iceland, where the central motive is to encourage joy and companionship in and with nature.

In line with Á beer’s vision to help safeguard Iceland’s rivers, Á will donate profits to the Icelandic Wildlife Fund (IWF), a fund with focus on nature conservation and environmental issues protecting the wild salmon, sea trout and other freshwater fish stocks in Iceland. Iceland’s rivers are the source of this and many friendships and to enable future generations to make the same experiences, Á has the passion to promote the sustainability of this pristine and unique Icelandic nature.
